رَضَبَ رِيقَهَا, (A, Ḳ,) aor. ـُ {يَرْضُبُ}, (A, TA,) inf. n. رَضْبٌ, (TA,) He sucked in, or gently sucked or drew in with his lips, her (a girl's, or young woman's, TA) saliva; (A, Ḳ, TA;) as alsoترضّبِها↓, (A,) orترضّب↓ رِيقَهَا. (Ḳ.)

And رَضَبَ المَطَرُ The rain poured vehemently, or abundantly and extensively; (Ḳ, TA;) as alsoارضب↓, inf. n. إِرْضَابٌ. (TA.) And رَضَبَتِ السَّمَآءُ The sky poured incessantly with rain in large drops. (AA, TA.)

رَضُبٌ is also used as a verb, [meaning an inf n. of رَضَبَ signifying It (dew) fell, or formed, in distinct particles upon the trees,] from رُضَابٌ applied to dew. (TA.)

رَضَبَتِ الشَّاةُ i. q. رَبَضَت, [q. v., app. formed from the latter by transposition,] (Ḳ,) but seldom used. (TA.)

رُضَابٌ Saliva; syn. رِيقٌ: (Ṣ:) or saliva (ريق) that is sucked in, or gently sucked or drawn in with the lips; (L, Ḳ;) as when a man kisses a girl: (L:) or what one so sucks or draws in, of his own saliva: (L:) or what forms into little bubbles, of saliva, and spreads, or becomes scattered, or sprinkled; what flows being termed بُزَاق: (TA:) or particles of saliva in the mouth: (Ḳ:) or, as some say, the separation of saliva into distinct particles, and abundance of the water of the teeth: but of each of the last two explanations, AM [or, I believe, ISd] says, “I know not how this is.” (TA.)

Froth of honey. (Ḳ, TA.)

Particles of dew upon trees. (Ḳ)

Particles of snow, of hail, and of sugar. (Ḳ.)

Particles of musk: (Ḳ:) or so رُضَابُ مِسْكٍ. (TA.)

رَاضِبٌ Vehement, or abundant and extensive, rain: (Ṣ, Ḳ:) or rain pouring incessantly, in large drops. (AA, TA.)

Also A species of the [lote-tree called] سِدْر: (Ṣ, Ḳ:) one of which is called رَاضِبَةٌ, [with respect to which it is a coll. gen. n.,] andرَضَبَةٌ↓, (Ḳ,) with respect to which latter, if this be correct, it is a quasi-pl. n. (TA.)

مَرَاضِبُ [in the TḲ مَرَاضِيبُ] Sweet salivæ. (Ḳ, TA.)
