نَقَحَ شَيْئًا, aor. ـَ
نَقَحَ الجِذْعَ, inf. n. نَقْحٌ; (Ḳ;) andنقّحهُ↓, (Ḳ,) inf. n. تَنْقِيحٌ; (Ṣ;) He pared off the knots of the palm-trunk: (Ḳ:) or he pruned, or trimmed, the trunk of the palm-tree, by cutting off the stumps of the branches, or by cutting off the superfluous branches. (Ṣ.)
نَقَحَ, (TA,) andانقح↓, (Ḳ,) He stripped off the ornaments of his sword [to sell them] in a time of dearth and poverty. (Ḳ, TA.)
نَقَحَ العَظْمَ, aor. ـَ
نَقَحَ شَيْئًا He separated what was good from what was bad of the thing. (Mṣb.)

نقّح الشِّعْرَ, inf. n. تَنْقِيحٌ; (Ṣ, Ḳ;) andانقحهُ↓, inf. n. إِنْقَاحٌ; (Ḳ;) ‡ He trimmed, pruned, or put into a right or proper state, poetry, or verses. (Ṣ, Ḳ.)
نقّح الكَلَامَ ‡ He scrutinized the language, and examined it well: or he put it to rights, or trimmed it, and removed its faults, or defects. (TA.)

تنقّح شَحْمُهُ, (Ḳ,) or شَحْمُ النَّاقَةِ, (Ṣ,) or شَحْمُ نَاقَتِهِ, (TA, &c.,) ‡ His fat, (Ḳ,) or the fat of the she-camel, (Ṣ,) or the fat of his she-camel, (TA, &c.,) became little in quantity, or diminished, (Ṣ, Ḳ, &c.,) or partially went away. (A.)
