هَرِشَ, aor. ـَ {يَهْرَشُ}, (Ṣgh, Ḳ,) inf. n. هَرَشٌ, (TḲ,)He (a man, TA) was, or became, evil, or bad, in disposition. (Ṣgh, Ḳ.)

هرَشَ الدَّهْرُ, (Ibn-ʼAbbád, A, Ḳ,) and الزَّمَانُ, (A,) aor. ـُ {يَهْرُشُ} and ـِ {يَهْرِشُ}, (A, Ḳ,) inf. n. هَرْشٌ, (TḲ,)Time, or fortune, was, or became, distressful, or calamitous. (I'Abbád, A, Ḳ.) [In the A, app. by inadvertence, هرش الدهر is mentioned as proper; and هرش الزمان, as tropical.]

هَرَّشَ بَيْنَ الكِلَابِ, (A,* Ḳ,* TḲ,) inf. n. تَهْرِيشٌ, (Ṣ, A, Ḳ,) He excited strife, or quarrel-ling, between, or among, the dogs; syn. حَرَّشَ: (Ṣ,* A, Ḳ, TḲ:) andهارش↓ بَيْنَ الكِلَابِ, (A, Mgh, TA,) or بِالكِلَابِ, (Ṣ,) or بَعْضَ الكِلَابِ عَلَى بَعْضٍ, (Ḳ,* TḲ,) inf. n. مُهَارَشَةٌ (Ṣ, A, Mgh, Ḳ) and هِرَاشٌ, (Ṣ, Mgh,) he incited the dogs to attack one another. (Ṣ, Mgh, Ḳ.)

[Hence,] هرّش بَيْنَ القَوْمِ, (A,) or بَيْنَ النَّاسِ, (Ḳ,) inf. n. as above, (Ṣ, Ḳ,)He excited discord, dissension, disorder, strife, quarrelling, or animosity, between, or among, the people. (Ṣ,* A, Ḳ.)

هَارَشَا [They fought and assailed each other]: said of two dogs. (A.) See also 6.

[Hence,] كَلْبُ هِرَاشٍ [An irritable, or a quarrelsome, dog]; like كَلْبُ خِرَاشٍ. (TA.)
