وبّش (TA,) or وبّش أَوْبَاشًا, (Ṣ, L,) inf. n. تَوْبِيشٌ, (TA,) He collected companies, bodies, or forces, of various tribes, for war. (Ṣ,* L, TA.)

وَبْشٌ (ISd, TA,) andوَبَشٌ↓ (ISd, Ḳ,) sings. of أَوْبَاشٌ (ISd, Ḳ, TA) which signifies A medley, or mixed multitude; (Ṣ, A, Ḳ;) and the lowest or basest or meanest sort, or refuse, or riffraff; (A, Ḳ;) of men, or people; (Ṣ, TA;) or of troops, or soldiers; (A;) like أَوْشَابٌ; [and similar to أَشْوَابٌ, but more particular;] and said to be a pl., formed by transposition, of بَوْشٌ [q. v.]: (Ṣ) or sundry, or separate, sorts, of men, or people: (Aṣ, ISd, TA:) and of trees and plants: (ISd, TA:) or a small number, and those separate, of trees and plants.
