وَتُحَ, aor. يَوْتُحُ, inf. n. وَتَاحَةٌ (Ṣ, Ḳ) and وُتُوحَةٌ (Ḳ) and وَتْحَةٌ, (L,) It (a thing, Ṣ, or a gift, Ḳ) was little, or small, and paltry, mean, or contemptible. (Ṣ, L, Ḳ.)
وَتَحَ عَطَآءَهُ, aor. يَتِحُ; (Ḳ;) andاوتحهُ↓; (Ṣ, Ḳ;) andوَتّحهُ↓, inf. n. تَوْتِيحٌ; (Ṣ;) He made his gift little, or small, (Ṣ, Ḳ,) and paltry, mean, or contemptible. (Ḳ.)
اوتح↓ لَهُ الشَّىْءَ He made the thing little to him. (L.)
اوتح↓ He became a person of little property. (Ḳ)

اوتح فُلَانًا He harassed and distressed him; syn. جَهَدَهُ وَبَلَغَ مِنْهُ; (L, Ḳ;) and in like manner, اوتح جَهْدَهُ, and اوتح مِنْهُ, andوتّح↓. (L.)
اوَتح, in this sense, occurs in a verse as related by Th: as related by IAạr it is اوتخ. (TA.)

توتّح مِنَ الشرَابِ He drank a little of the beverage: (Ṣ, L:) or, as also توتّح الشَّرَابَ, he drank the beverage by little and little. (TA.)
وَتْحٌ
شَىْءٌ وَتْحٌ, andوَتِحٌ↓, (Ṣ, Ḳ,) andوَتَحٌ↓, andوَتِيحٌ↓, (Ḳ,) A little, or small, and paltry, mean, or contemptible, thing. (Ṣ, Ḳ.) One says also شَىْءٌ وَتَحٌ وَعْرٌ A small, or little, or scanty, thing: the latter of the two epithets being an imitative sequent; (Ṣ;) or, correctly, a corroborative. (Marg. note in a copy of the Ṣ.)
مَا أَغْنَى وعَنِّى وَتَحَةً↓, a phrase like ما اغنى عنّى عَبَكَةً, (L,) or He, or it, was of no profit, or advantage, to me. (L, Ḳ.)
طَعَامٌ وَتْحٌ Food in which is no good; like وَحْتٌ. (L.)
رَجُلٌ وَتحٌ↓ A vile, mean, or contemptible, man. (Ṣ.)
